What are you lookin at?

Well the last few weeks has been quite a whirlwind when it comes to blogging and toronto comedy. A few guys from the west came through and wrote some negative things about certain comics and paid the price for it.

One comic was upset on the amount of time that the other comics did and since the crowd was tired he did not sell any cds. So he flew off the handle and persoanlly attacked three people on a blog and then could not understand why comics got there back up.

Now I don't want to go over the gory details but I wanted to make one point and needed that set up. When was it built into the show to sell cds. Yes I have a cd to sell but I don't go to the door or force it on people. Some comics can do it and I am happy for them but if someone wants one of my cds they have to find me and ask. I cannot stand at the door with my hand out like a clubbed seal hopeful that greenpeace will come to my rescue so I can make rent.

There have been many ....and I mean many weekends I don't even try and sell my cd cause I figure what is the point if the show did not go that well. See I am not a comic that says he kills all the time. There have been shows that have not gone well.....where people would say "This guy has a cd?". If the shows don't go well and I don't sell any cds then fine. I never intended to make a lot of money on my cds. That is why i charge 10 bucks while other comics charge you 20 to hear them suck. I also tell people to burn it and give it to there friends if they want.

I have seen comics do a 6 out of 10 and still try and hock their shit. Now I am not saying they can't but I feel bad for the people at the show having to walk by those comics and may make a pity purchase. I understand that people may make an impulse buy like smarties at a grocery store but I never wanted my act to be an impulse buy. I only want people to buy it who want it......imagine that....they actually made an effort and looked for em and found me and wanted the cd.

The pity is already in my act ......I don't need the warm hug at the end
