I am at a crossroad here and I really don't know what to do
Do I do the material that I know is going to work or do I do the material I am most proud of?
I know all of you are saying that is an easy question kinda like when a comic asks if the crowd thinks their country is the best in the world and they go nuts. Planned response to gain cheap confidence
It is not that simple..let me explain.
Last night was a high at this festival for me...if you read the blog it looked that way.
Tonight I did a show at the same venue for the same size crowd but did very poorly. The show is called Bubbling with Laughter and it is the clean show. Was it the fact that I lacked confidence in the material? Was it that Adam Bloom had an amazing set and I could not follow it? Was the set too edgy or rough for tv friendly crowds.
The set is now in the hands of the suck fairies.
So now I have only one set left to do before I go out and face 2000 people with a clean set and I truly do not know what to do. I left out certain jokes that I think are lame that I don't like doing anymore but kill. I tried to replace them with jokes that have done well in the past but sure tanked tonight....
comedy should not be this hard
