Show me one young guy who is funny on tv....what dave chappelle...he has been doing it for a long long time. Just show me one guy who has been doing it for less then five years that deserves the hype they give the young.

Can't wait to read the next article on the young comic who is going to save comedy. Who knew it needed saving?

Can't wait for the alternative nation to tell me how funny alternative comedy truly is. There doesn't have to a point darren...no punchlines man just go with it.

Can't wait for a new comic with his chest pumped out telling me he made the top ten list of some lame paper and they think they are truly in the top ten of this country.

Can't wait for the canadian comedy awards to fuck up some more heads. "I was in the top five funniest new comics Darren" Yeah and three of them have been doing it almost as long as me fuckface.

Can't wait for another comic to get a tv special with only ten minutes and I know twenty that would kill but no one is reporting that are they. "He is young and hip Darren..we know he is not that great but that is our demographic"

Can't wait for another male comic to tell a new female comic she is great/amazing/genius cause they want to fuck them and by doing that you are actually hurting their career cause they believe you.

Comedy is about experience..point blank that is it. Either stage experience or better then that, life experience.

I know I know...I sound like I am 40 or something but in comedy I'm not that far off. Once you hit your thirties they say you should be hitting your stride. Tell that to Rodney who didn't hit till his 50's.

Now don't get me wrong, I am one of the few guys who likes to see new guys do original funny stuff. I don't really feel threatened cause they are not doing what I do and we will never be out for the same parts. If I see something I like I will go up to a younger comic and tell them. I just won't say it to every new comic, cause false praise is brutal.

That is the problem with our business ..we do eat our young. Either they get too much too quickly and that hurts there career or they get nothing. Sink or swim fucktard. I hope you brought water wings cause you are going to have to dogpaddle for along time.

and now a happy story of when I was a young comic and thought everything worked out if you were just funny.

I remember when a comic did something when I was new. I barely had ten minutes and was doing an opening spot on a saturday night in hamilton ontario. The big time..saturday night..man i was going to kill I thought. I didn't but the headliner came up to me and said some nice things.

Now this comic is known to say nice things about a lot of young guys and some bitter fucks will say "so what he says that about everyone".

The difference is on this night I needed it to keep going after not doing so well. More importantly during his set he did one of my jokes that I did and killed with it. It was like the audience did not even listen to my set. He then stopped the show and said to the audience

"Did you guys know that was the opening guy's joke....it was a great joke and you never even listened to it".

He said this not in a scolding way but just a reminder that audiences should listen to everyone on the show.

I know I know...oh tear darren....comedy is one big hug.

Well you know what, on that night when I drove home I didn't speed cause I didn't want to rush back to the bullshit of my daily grind life. I just thought hey maybe comedy isn't dog eat dog. Maybe there are comics out there who are standup guys.

In this business moments like this rarely/never happen cause most comics don't have the experience to realize that it is not me against you.
