I Am Against Cancer
ok here is the backstory in a nutshell
in the past few months I have had an ongoing arguement with a comic out west that keeps harping on his site that I am against cancer or raising money for cancer.
He keeps selling his comedy cds with proceeds to go to his cancer benefit and I say that unless you give 100 percent of net from the cd or you quietly give the proceeds with no public knowledge....you are making money off the back of cancer.
He actually announces from stage that the 10 dollars of his cd goes to cancer. While he pockets the other 10.
I am not saying that you are not doing good but the fact is the fact. Some people will buy the cd cause the money is going to cancer. Even if they are 80 per cent to buy it just cause of his act, the cancer thing could be the deciding factor and therefore you are making money off the back of it.
See what happens is comic likes to brag on how much money he makes on his cds. In the last few months he has bragged that he sells so many cds and made so much money other comics should do what he does. Brags all day long about it and then when someone calls him on it he plays the victim card. Why is bad man hurting the guy raising money for cancer......
He rips of his fans by home burning his cd...you know if I sold that many I would get them done professionally since I owe the people who pay 20 bucks to hear me suck. Oh wait mine is professionally done ..nevermind that one
He keeps bringing it up so I thought I would set the record straight..normally I would never list such stuff as I do all my charity work quiet but since he is going to make me look like a cancer monger
he is correct..

I used one of my connections a few years ago to get a jersey signed by a rock band and gave it to the actual benefit that fuckface runs.....

For the past few summers my company donates a week of our time to help kids with cancer at a summer camp. We bring up thousands of dollars of equipment and let them film themselves and we help them make movies at a time when they are happy

I am also against those that brag about how much money they make from cds when they are doing it on the back of something

sounds like he's not just making money off the back of cancer, but he's doggying it at the same time.
this is the type of person who will someday get cancer and say,
"Why Me. What I have done that was so wrong to deserve this?!?."
Well said Darren! You told it like it is.
You are probably right about "this is not going to end this is only the beginning I am sure".
As soon as his benefit is over and those involved stop going to his site he will then again start using his blog for being an ass. Right now he has to look like a good guy for the sponsors.
Good point on the CD just being a home burnt one. I would feel ripped off for 20 bucks even though half was for a good cause.

I'm with keebler... that person is just building bad kharma. Maybe he should save the money from his sales for the inevitable day he gets cancer so then he can buy some radiation treatment from the US private cancer clinics.
